I AM currently working on our school website, which we will be launching on the 24th during our Dinner-for-a-Cause, a fund-raising activity for our proposed covered court.
The domain http://www.rshsxii.edu.ph was purchased by the Computer and Student Entrepreneurs Club, while the hosting was donated by Mr. Jerome Babate, who provides consultancy services.
The site is actually a WordPress installation. I used PageLines as a theme, which provided me with a drag-and-drop interface for layout editing. I installed a lot of useful plugins including galleries, among others.
I wanted the front page to be simple. Used non-distracting colors and added only very few elements. Site visitors will be welcomed by a slideshow that introduces the school. I took photos of our students doing laboratory activities, or simply chatting in the corridors on under the trees. I wanted to project the real ambiance of the school. I put together the photos in a wordpress slider.
Here are some of the photos:
I wanted the give the some style. I wanted something as stylish as SlideDeck. You can find SlideDeck information in this link. Well, anyway, I just had to make do with what I was able to download.
As I said, the website will be launched on Sunday and I am excited about it. I asked our school dance troupe to choreograph a dance to the music that I chose — techno music in piano. I watched them rehearse this afternoon and I am more than glad about what they did. Tomorrow, we will practice with the narrative I wrote to introduce the website to our guests.
